Free pizza for Titans

Registration was hopping at LCC on Tuesday

Calling all Titans: Register to give blood during our three-day blood drive at Lane Community College and get free pizza to compliment that feeling of doing a good deed.

Papa’s Pizza is donating two pizzas each day of our LCC drive, but — more importantly for starving college students — the restaurant is giving every registering donor a voucher for a free mini-pizza. Just visit us in the Health and Wellness Building (Building 30), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, through Thursday, April 30. We’ll fill you in on all the details.

Lane Blood Center extends a huge “thank you” to Papa’s Pizza on Coburg Road for this generous gift, and to everyone willing to spend a few moments to save lives this week. Each pint of donated blood can save up to three lives.

pizza Patrick Brister gives blood as often as he can. His A-Positive blood type is the second most common type, and therefore needed by many patients.
heidi Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Heidi Norris sees the value of donated blood on the job at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. She gave blood for the tenth time Tuesday at LCC, where she’s studying nursing.
cassidy Cassidy Barber saw the bus parked outside Building 30 and decided to take a few moments out of her day to help save lives. It was her first donation with Lane Blood Center, and hopefully not her last.

Whatever your reason for giving blood — a personal experience with blood transfusion or a passion for pizza — we’re grateful to each one of donors for their extraordinary gifts.
