Thank You, Nurses

“They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” — Maya Angelou

nurse heartThey say nurses are the backbone of any health care organization, the frontline caregivers who interact with people day in and day out. That’s certainly the case here at Lane Blood Center.

Today through May 12 is National Nurses Week, a time to recognize the skill, the patience, the dedication and the care that these professionals bring to their work.

Lane Blood typically has about 10 nurses on staff, working as supervisors, mobile blood drive facilitators, safety officers and more. Not only are they compassionate with donors, but their skills, knowledge and professional credentials contribute to the safety and comfort of the donor experience.

The demand for blood never ceases. We rely on our nurses every day of the year, so celebrating their contributions for a single week seems inadequate. Help us show appreciation by stopping by, saying hello and thanking our nurses and collection staff when you can.

Thank you, nurses!
